Switzerland’s Hidden Waterfall Gem

It was a cold and windy Saturday before Easter and we had to cancel our planned bike trip because it was simply unpleasant to ride a bike against the chilly breeze. We changed our plans and chose to go to a valley less exposed to the winds. Walensee happened to be the perfect solution and so we drove to Weesen (Lago Mio Bath) and then walked to Betlis, continuing onwards until we reached the Seerenbach Falls.

The first part of the hike led us along the shore of the deep blue lake and through a narrow tunnel where you could barely fit a car! Then the path went through flourishing lawns, past fully blooming apple trees, and past a tiny chapel on a hill. On the last part of the path we walked through the forest up to the three Seerenbach Falls, which combined make the 3rd largest waterfall in Switzerland! Standing at the platform and feeling the mist of the thunderous falls is a truly spectacular experience!

Every time I get to walk to Betlis, I am stunned by nature, so I am happy to share this experience with you! I am so thankful I get to call this beautiful country my home!
