2 Easy and quick fall DIYs - 2 eifache Herbst-DIYs
This year, fall came really suddenly. It feels like two weeks ago I was still swimming in the river here in Zurich and a week later I was ready to dig out my winter jacket. Last weekend we even had snow everywhere above 1000 m.a.s.l. (3200 feet)! So I realized I was a little late with my fall decor, but nonetheless I am now ready to show what I came up with. This time I also made two easy DIY’s that I will be showing in this post. For all the fall decor photos you can scroll to the bottom of the page.
Painted wood disk
You need: Wooden disks, white paint, paint brush, waterproof pens or stamps and ink pad
How to: Paint the wood disk with the white paint and let it dry. Then write on the white part or take stamps and stamp on it.
Beechnut husk balls
You need: a lot of beechnut husks from the forest, styrofoam balls, brown paint, paint brush, hot glue, tooth pick
How to: Paint the styrofoam ball brown so the white won’t shine though later. After the paint is dry, start stabbing the beechnut husks into the ball. Sometimes the tiny stem was too weak, that’s when I used the tooth pick to make the hole. Sometimes the beechnut husk didn’t stick so well, so then I used hot glue to secure it. Make sure you put the nuts as close as possible to each other. Cover the whole ball until finished.
Finding beechnut husks: This time of the year you can find lots of fruit in the forest. If you just walk along the paths you will be able to find the husks on the ground. Of course it won’t be the same every year because of weather conditions. Make sure to find out if there are beeches in your area before you go. If you don’t have a forest nearby you can always buy them online or you can get creative and replace the beechnut husks with other things. (Tiny shells, rocks, wool…)
Wow, dieses Jahr kam der Herbst irgendwie so schnell. Es scheint mir, als ob ich vor zwei Wochen noch in der Limmat geschwommen bin und ich jetzt schon im Kasten nach den Winterjacken grabe. Letztes Wochenende hatten wir sogar Schnee überall über 1000 M.ü.M.! Der ist jetzt zum Glück wieder weg. Ich realisierte, dass ich etwas hintennach hinke mit meiner Herbstdekoration, aber nun bin ich so weit und kann euch zeigen, was ich gemacht habe. Dieses Mal habe ich sogar noch zwei kleine DIY für euch vorbereitet.
Bemalte Holzscheiben:
Material: Holzscheiben (ich hatte meine vom Laden, aber man könnte sie gut auch selber schneiden), weisse Farbe, Pinsel, wasserfeste Stifte oder Stempel und Stempelkissen
Anleitung: Bemale die Holzscheiben mit weisser Farbe und lasse sie trocknen. Schreibe mit dem Stift auf den weissen Bereich oder stemple los.
Bucheckern-Kugeln (Buchennüssli-Kugeln)
Material: Viele Bucheckerhüllen vom Wald, Styroporkugeln, braune Farbe, Pinsel, Heissleim, Zahnstocher
Anleitung: Bemale die Styroporkugel mit brauner Farbe, sodass nachher das Weiss nicht durchscheint. Nachdem die Farbe getrocknet ist, können die Bucheckern in die Kugel gestochen werden. Wenn der kleine Stiel zu instabil war, habe ich mit dem Zahnstocher vorgestochen. Hielten die Nüsschen nicht richtig, fixierte ich sie mit Heissleim. Die Bucheckern so nahe wie möglich anmachen.
