Budget-Friendly Spring Birthday Decorations

It was a beautiful, crisp spring day and we had to decorate for a friend’s 60th birthday party. I was very happy that I could decorate with my mom again since the biggest reason for us starting this very blog was because I moved away and the blog was a way for us to share our passion for being creative. So naturally, we both were excited to start the day. At first we went to a flower market in Feldkirch, Austria. There we were hoping to find a good selection of fresh, affordable flowers. We ended up going with Tulips, even though my mom was very nervous about it. Tulips tend to have a hanging head rather quickly once they are exposed to the warmth of a house. We decided to leave them in the cold until the next day where we were going to decorate.

The birthday party was going to take place in a beautifully renovated barn with a gorgeous outside area. To decorate we used all the little bottles we've collected over the years and filled them with purple tulips, long grass, and baby's breath.

For placemats, we simply used A3 papers which are about the size of a normal placemat. With this we could create a unique look. For the outside area we used big glass jars, tied a ribbon around it, and put a candle inside.

Let the party begin!!

The Susslife Tip: If available, try using a big sheet of paper, matching the napkins you want to use, as a placemat.
