Wedding decor - Hochzeitsdeko
What a day! Last Saturday we got to celebrate my best friends wedding. I was her maid of honor and helped out a lot with all the wedding preparations. One of my responsibilities were the decorations. Luckily my mom is amazing at decorating and I got to do it with her. I am stoked to share some impressions with you and hopefully inspire you for possible future weddings.
Was für ein Tag! Letzen Samstag durften wir die Hochzeit meiner besten Freundin feiern. Ich war die Trauzeugin und half viel beim Planen und Vorbereiten. Einer meiner Verantwortungen war die Dekoration. Zum Glück ist meine Mutter sehr begabt, was das Dekorieren anbelangt und ich durfte es mit ihr machen. Ich freue mich euch einige Impressionen zu zeigen und euch hoffentlich für zukünftige Hochzeiten zu inspirieren.
On one of our first planning meetings we looked at the brides vision for the wedding decoration. She wanted a lot of small vases and white flowers mixed with some color. We picked some flowers and a couple months later we did a test version of the table decoration. This is how we made sure it all would fit together.
On the day of the wedding the church looked like this:
An einer der ersten Sitzungen schauten wir uns die Vorstellungen der Braut für die Hochzeitsdekoration an. Sie wollte viele kleine Vasen und weisse Blumen gemischt mit etwas Farbe. Wir entschieden uns für die Blumen und einige Wochen später machten wir die Testdekoration. Somit konnten wir sicher gehen, dass alles zusammenpassen würde.
Am Hochzeitstag sah die Kirche so aus:

Swiss weddings can be very similar to American ones except for when they’re not. They are about 12 hours long and include two different parts. Part one includes the ceremony and the appetisers. There you invite about 200 people. After that part is over you move on to a different location and only the “invited” guest are coming with you. The amount of people can range from 80 - 100. There you will eat a fancy dinner and play a lot of games and dance (if you want) until after midnight.
For the second part of the wedding we went on to another venue which ended up being an old castle. Here is how it looked:

We bought these tiny jars that ended up looking amazing if you hang them up. These were one of our favorite parts of the wedding
Wir kauften diese winzigen Gläschen, welche wunderschön aussahen, als wir sie aufhingen. Diese waren unsere Lieblingsstücke von der Hochzeitsdeko.
Oh and this table was beautiful. The flowers, the sign and the candles, it all just fit perfectly.
Ach und dieser Tisch war einfach wunderschön. Die Blumen, das Schild, die Kerzen, es passte einfach alles perfekt zusammen.
