Visit Pilatus – No Hiking Needed
A couple of weeks ago my grandparents took my younger cousins and I on a fun trip to Pilatus, a mountain in Switzerland near Lucerne. Since my grandparents are not so good on foot anymore we took the cogwheel train, which happens to be the steepest in the world! It’s incline is up to 48%! It was quite the adventure to see how steep it is, the pictures don’t quite due it justice. The ride takes 30 minutes but on the way you can sometimes see the beautiful lake Lucerne.
On top of Mount Pilatus you can enjoy food or a drink in the restaurant with an amazing view all around. Since the weather wasn’t great on the day we went, we could only see glimpses of the actual beauty but it was still amazing. Apparently you are also pretty likely to see ibexes!
We ended up taking the cogwheel train back but there is also an option of taking a gondola lift down which gives you a different view. If you enjoy beautiful views and being in the mountains, this will definitely be a fun trip for you!
