Yaaay we finally made it to California. We love being in my husbands home land! We got to spend two nights in San Francisco, which is one of my favorite cities in the world! I am going to share with you some of our recommended places to go.

First we drove up highway 1 to get to San Francisco. The road leads you along the beautiful oceanside and you can enjoy astonishing views. We stopped by this cool looking cliff to take some pictures.

In San Francisco, we first walked through the Financial District. Our final goal was to get to the Golden Gate Bridge. As an European or maybe just Swiss person I am not really used to so many tall buildings. It always fascinates me to walk through this area. I also really like the contrast of the business buildings and the palm tress. On the way we got stopped to look at the new Samsung Galaxy Fold and giving our opinion on it. You can watch the video on www.cnet.com.

After the Financial District we continued our path down to the ocean. We walked along all the piers starting from 1 all the way up to 39. On the way we saw this old looking ship and in the background you can see Alcatraz, the infamous and notorious prison.

After a rather long walk we made it to the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center. I originally wanted to walk on the other side to get a different view. But we realized that distances in America are a little different from the ones in Switzerland. We wanted to rent a bike or an electric scooter but turns out you need internet to rent most of them. Since we didn’t have any it turned out to be a long six mile walk.

Lucky as we are, we got to see so many beautiful flowers around the bridge and it made everything look even more amazing. I gotta say I am truly in love with the bridge. Every time we are in the city I want to go there. The sheer size and the color makes it so majestic, it’s definitely one of my favorite things to see.

We also saw countless humming birds by the bridge. Humming birds are very special to us Europeans since they only live on the American continent. I managed to take a couple pictures even though those little guys are very fast.

We ended up taking an Uber back, since we were really tired. This is what we explored on this trip. I will do a later post about places we didn’t see this time but totally recommend.
