Elephant seals - Seeelefanten
One of my wishes was to see the elephant seals that naturally live along the coast of the bay area. One of the places you can go to ist called Ano Nuevo State Park. It’s only 10$ for parking and then you have free access to the park. You can do a beautiful walk through the park until you get to the elephant seals. This time of the year you can only see the female and the juveniles. The male animals are currently swimming in the ocean. If you want to see them you have to go there in January or February. But even with just the females it was fun. You can go really close and there are docents that answer all of your questions about the elephant seals. It is definitely worth a trip!
Einer meiner Wünsche war es die Seeelefanten zu sehen, die dort and er Küste der Bay Area leben. Im State Park Ano Nuevo kann man die Tiere in ihrem natürlichen Habitat beobachten. Es kostet nur 10$ für das Parkieren und danach hat man freien Eintritt zum Park. Als erstes macht man einen kleinen Spaziergang durch den Park, bis man zu den Tieren kommt. In dieser Jahreszeit kann man nur die Weibchen und die Jungtiere sehen, die sich am Strand häuten. Die Männchen schwimmen im Ozean bis nach Alaska hoch. Um die Männchen zu sehen, muss man im Januar oder Februar in den Park gehen. Aber auch nur mit den Weibchen war es spannend. Man kann ziemlich nahe hingehen und es hat Parkangestellte, die alle Fragen beantworten. Es ist definitiv einen Besuch wert.
