Handmade Advent Calendar with Paper Houses
A few days late perhaps, but nonetheless, I still want to show you guys the advent calendar I made for my husband. At first I wasn’t even sure if I wanted to make one, but then my husband mentioned that he really likes these types of advent calendars and that’s all I needed to be convinced.
Online I saw this really cute idea of drawing houses on kraft paper and then sewing the sides with a sewing machine. Originally it was just a creative gift wrap, but I decided to use it for the whole advent calendar.
What you need:
Kraft paper
White marker
Ruler
Scissors
Sewing machine
White thread
Gifts
Instructions:
Draw the outlines of the house on the backside of the paper. I made my houses between 9 - 14cm wide and between 9 - 18cm tall. It really depends on the gift you are wrapping though. You will have to draw each house twice, one for the front and one for the back. If you have several different sized houses make sure to number the pieces so you remember which parts go together. Then cut them and draw the house.
Add the two pieces together and sew 3 of the sides. Insert the gift and finish sewing.
Things to put into the calendar:
Socks
Undershirts
Playing Cards
Massage ball
Cups
Sweater
Some extra love
Movie time
Ice skating
Breakfast in bed
Massage
Chocolate
Beer
Cheap game
Night at the Christmas Market
