Rustic Fall Wedding Ideas for a Barn
This year my mom and I were lucky enough to decorate for my uncle’s and my aunt’s wedding. My aunt is also a very talented wedding florist, so we were even more honered to be able to take over the wedding decor. As usual the brides have a say in the kind of flowers and colors they want on their wedding. Then the day before the wedding we start decorating.
We were very fortunate this time as we got to decorate the church and the dinner venue, an old barn, on the entire day before the wedding. On another wedding the venue was only open in the evening which ended up in a very late night… We loved the barn because it was already decorated so lovely and just a charming building. So here are all the impressions of the day!
Difficulties Church:
At the church we’ve always struggled with the flowers in the isle. Buying a lot of flowers can quickly become expensive but only having a few pathetic flowers on the benches just doesn’t look great. They seem to disappear in the huge church. Another aunt of mine (yes, I have a lot of creative aunts) had the idea to use the white fabric pieces and tie them around the bench to create a more voluminous look. We were in love!
Difficulties Dinner Location: At the dinner location we struggled with the narrow tables. Yes, they were so narrow that the big dining plates touched in the middle. That’s why we could only use small decor pieces in between the plates and glasses. Eucalyptus turned out to be a great help in connecting the floral elements.
